ALLOUEZ, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A group of people gathered outside St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Allouez Wednesday night for a vigil.
“So we come together tonight to pray for the people of Ukraine. We pray for all who are affected by the war, and we pray, most importantly, for peace.”
The interfaith event brought people together to stand in solidarity with those in Ukraine.
One of the organizers tells FOX 11 it was wonderful to see the people gather.
“My biggest hope is that this will bring some awareness and some comfort to the people of Ukraine, to help them to understand and to know that there are people all over the world who are thinking of them and praying for them,” Union Congregational UCC Senior Pastor Bridget Flad Daniels said.
The group also held sunflowers, the Ukrainian national flower, and sang hymns.
