APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A 14-year-old Appleton girl who gained national attention for wanting to end treatment for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 has died.
Jerika Bolen died yesterday according to her mother.
Bolen’s last wish was to have a prom, which was held in July and attended by hundreds of people she’d never met.
Her battle to end her life also sparked a new debate on right-to-die issues, as Bolen never walked and could only move her hands and her head.
