GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A former Green Bay music teacher has been arrested amid allegations of inappropriate student contact.
Kelton Jennings was arrested Friday on a charge of sexual assault of a student by school staff, jail records show. No formal charges have been filed.
In a letter to families and staff, the Green Bay Area Public School District says it received an allegation Jan. 28 of inappropriate student contact against Jennings. He was immediately placed on paid administrative leave while the district and police investigated.
During the investigation, another allegation was made against Jennings. He resigned from the district on Tuesday, according to the letter.
Jennings taught fifth grade instrumental music at Beaumont, Danz, Eisenhower, Elmore, Jackson and MacArthur elementary schools, the district says.
The district asks anyone with additional information to contact the Green Bay Police Department.
