GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Green Bay salon school is joining the fight against Alzheimer’s.
The Paul Mitchell School is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association this month to raise awareness and funds to combat the disease.
Students spent Wednesday giving free manicures and pedicures to caregivers.
“Those caregivers do so much. It’s such a hard thing. I watch my family go through it with my grandma and it’s really, really hard. They deserve so much credit and so much gratitude and appreciation and what a great organization that we can partner with. We’re so thankful. Especially this time of year, being so thankful.”
Amy Shadian says proceeds from $1 gift basket raffles this month are going toward the cause.
Officials say 193,000 people in the state are Alzheimer’s caregivers.
