OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Oshkosh Police Department helped out with an early Thanksgiving gift.
On Wednesday, officers joined the Boys and Girls Club to deliver “heat and serve” meals to some families in Oshkosh.
The families are getting a variety of Thanksgiving staples that they can prepare for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
Oshkosh Police Chief Dean Smith tells FOX 11 his officers are happy to help out.
“As part of this community, it’s a good thing to give back to the community. The community takes care of us. It’s a good thing to give back to the community and we want to take care of the community.”
Around Christmas, the officers and the Boys and Girls Club will do “Shop with a Cop” to benefit those who might otherwise not be able to afford a present for their families.
