OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The home of the Wisconsin Herd is nearing completion as it prepares to host its first game Friday night.
The original plan was to open earlier this month but delays in construction pushed the opening back.
Greg Pierce, of Fox Valley Pro Basketball, tells FOX 11 it’s amazing to see the work that’s been done.
“Very exciting. This has been 18 months of my life and to get to this point where it’s actually about to come true, it’s really surreal. I mean I looked at plans of this for a long time and to see it come to life is pretty fulfilling.”
The Herd played its first three home games in Milwaukee while the arena was still under construction.
