GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Brown County Clerk of Courts and the Sheriff’s Department came together to find a local woman who was owed restitution.
Three months ago, officials were notified of a large amount of money sitting in restitution for a woman named Amanda Bricker.
Bricker was the victim of a hit-and-run crash in 2007.
After extensive searching, Bricker was finally found.
On Wednesday, officials presented her with a check for $13,000.
Bricker says she’s thankful officials didn’t give up in their search for her.
“Crazy. Very shocked. Surprised. Happy. I mean, $13,000 is a lot of money, so very excited. Very excited.”
Bricker says when it comes to the money, it was “out of sight, out of mind.”
She says she’s going to put it away for a rainy day.
