GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Students and faculty at U-W Green Bay got to virtually experience what it’s like to be a police officer Thursday afternoon.
In an effort to engage constructive conversation about policing around the city, Green Bay Police set up a special simulator computer program in the union on campus.
The simulator is the actual system used on officers in training at Northeast Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
Captain Kevin Warych was on hand to explain the process and how to use the fake weapons as folks volunteered to try the realistic experience.
Thursday night, the Green Bay Police Department will be holding a Community Panel Discussion: Race Relations and the Local Police “Let’s Speak to our Community” from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the UWGB University Union Phoenix Room.
