GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- Green Bay Police spent early Tuesday morning investigating a report of shots fired, after receiving a report that someone was shot at.
Green Bay Police investigated in the area of Packerland Drive and Trojan Drive.
Police Captain Kevin Warych said they responded to a call of a victim being shot, but discovered that there was never a victim, just gunshots.
“They got information that one person may have was possibly hit by a gunshot.”
Green Bay Police Captain Kevin Warych said they approached the scene with carefully.
Green Bay Police worked with the Oneida Law Enforcement and the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
“In a situation like this, our officers respond with caution as they don’t know what they will encounter as they approach that address.”
Warych said the investigation revealed that nobody was shot, but that a gun was fired.
“They were able to confirm that the shooting occurred.”
There is no indication as to why the gun was fired, but Captain Warych says they believe it was an isolated incident, and the public is not in danger.
