MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – New COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths continue to trend down.
The state Department of Health Services reported 340 new cases on Sunday, dropping the seven-day average to 679.
Test positivity averaged 4.6% for the most recent seven-day period.
With zero deaths on Sunday, the seven-day average held steady at 11.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 1,381,488 cases and 11,921 deaths.
According to the state, 63.9% of eligible Wisconsin residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 60.4% completed the vaccine series and 32.6% have received an additional booster dose.
Statewide hospitalizations continue to decline. The Wisconsin Hospital Association on Monday reported 505 patients, a decrease of 15 from the previous day and 184 from the previous week. Of those, 88 were in intensive care, four fewer than Sunday and 50 fewer than the previous week.
Northeast Wisconsin hospitals reported treating 64 patients, down seven in a day and nine in a week. Ten of those were in intensive care, down three in a day and two in a week. In the Fox Valley, there were 38 patients, down two in a day and 13 in a week. Six patients were in ICUs, up two in a day but down three in a week.
