GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – We now know what restaurant will be featured inside the Lambeau Field Atrium this season.
The Green Bay Packers and their food and beverage service partner announced Tuesday the new venture named 1919 Kitchen & Tap.
“Obviously the name is a tribute to the great history of the Packers,” says Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy. “I think having it right here on the Atrium floor, I believe it’s going to be well received by our fans.”
Officials say 1919 Kitchen & Tap will feature industrial, yet warm and rustic finishes, with copper beer lines and exposed brick, to complement Lambeau Field’s welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The interior will also include several nods to Packers history.
Delaware North Sportservice General Manager Charlie Millerwise says it features an open kitchen concept with a menu he believes will set the new standard for dining in Northeast Wisconsin.
“It gives guests the opportunity to hear, smell and see their food being prepared right in front of them,” Millerwise says. “We’ve long had the goal of taking local, familiar favorites and turning them into a unique, chef-driven menu.”
Millerwise says they will source local ingredients and work with area farmers. The space, which will have a regular capacity of 350, will include a full bar with 80 beer taps, wine selections and hand-crafted cocktails.
100 of those seats will be available in their new outdoor patio outside the Miller Lite Gate.
The 1919 Kitchen & Tap is scheduled to open in late July, and replaces Curly’s Pub, which had operated on the Atrium’s second floor since 2003.
“We’ve been enhancing our visitor experience here in the Atrium over the past couple years, and this new restaurant with its location across from the new Hall of Fame will be convenient for all our guests. The restaurant, with its excellent food and atmosphere, will be a great addition to the Atrium,” Murphy says.
