APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Police are looking into allegations that bullying landed an Appleton fifth grader in the hospital.
Appleton Police, having been made aware of the matter on Tuesday, is investigating a case where a Horizons Elementary student reportedly suffered a concussion and brain bleeding after being forcefully thrown to the ground.
A Facebook post detailing the alleged situation has gone viral.
The school reportedly waited hours to contact the student’s mother, ignoring the student’s pleas.
District officials, in a Wednesday statement, say there is “considerable misinformation” being spread on social media, adding that the school and its staffers acted appropriately.
The school resource officer assigned to Horizons is investigating the matter.
