ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ)- After seven years, Ashwaubenon School Superintendent Dr. Brian Hanes will be calling it a career.
Hanes announced his retirement date for next June.
“It’s an emotional decision, After 36 years this has been such a big part of my life.”
The school board accepted his retirement this week, which may be early to some, but Hanes said he did it for purposes of the job market and the future of the district.
“Out of respect to the district, this is the best time for them to go out on the job market.”
The board stated that they will start the replacement search on Friday.
Hanes said he will stay on board through the replacement process.
