WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A 21-year-old Oshkosh man will spend six months in jail for inflicting multiple injuries on his two-month-old daughter.
Prosecutors say Richard Root told them stress and a lack of sleep caused him to ‘snap,’ grabbing the baby around the chest and shaking her while she was crying.
The child suffered nine broken ribs, a broken arm, and a broken leg.
Root has also been placed on probation for seven years.
