GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A woman accused of having sex and trying to deliver drugs to inmates while working at the Green Bay Correctional Institution has pled not guilty.
According to the criminal complaint, 51-year-old Gayle Saldaris was a food service worker at the prison for three months last year. During that time, an inmate told investigators he had sexual contact with Saldaris 10 times a week, for about a month.
The complaint states that the convicted bank robber said he worked with Saldaris in the food line, and would get physical with her in the vegetable cooler and the freezer. He told investigators he’d been an inmate for 16 years and, “has never seen someone so reckless and blatant” as Saldaris.
Saldaris is also accused of trying to get drugs to a third inmate, 4 months after she was fired from the prison last July.
According to the criminal complaint, Saldaris tried having a different food worker at the prison bring Ethylone to the inmate. That worker called police, but was allegedly fired for previously delivering sexual messages to the inmate from Saldaris.
Saldaris will stand trial September 23.
