GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Kohler Co. has sued the village of Ashwaubenon, seeking a rebate from what it says are overcharged property taxes on a hotel near Lambeau Field.
The civil lawsuit states the village set the value of Lodge Kohler at $16.8 million, and levied a property tax of $304,121.
But, Kohler claims the fair market value is actually $12.3 million, and the “correct assessment” would be no higher than $11.6 million, with a property tax bill of $210,988. As a result, it is seeking refund of at least $93,133, the suit says.
The village has not formally replied to the lawsuit, which was filed Dec. 3, court records show.
No hearings have been scheduled.
