SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people are in custody after the armed robbery of a taxi driver in Sheboygan.
Just before 9 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 3500 block of Eisner Avenue.
A taxi driver reported that before dropping off a man and a woman passenger, the man showed a handgun and demanded money.
The taxi driver told police money was given to both passengers and the couple ran away.
A short time later, investigators were able to locate the suspects at a residence.
After a search warrant was obtained, both suspects, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man and a 21-year-old Sheboygan woman, were taken into custody.
The firearm and other evidence was also found inside the residence, police say.
Charges of armed robbery, possession of stolen property and felon in possession of a firearm are being requested.
