APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — Appleton Police say a domestic violence suspect tried to avoid arrest by fleeing through St. Elizabeth Hospital Monday morning.
At approximately 11:45 a.m. police say they responded to a home in the 1000 block of S. East Street for a domestic violence incident.
The suspect, a 27-year-old Appleton man, retreated into a shared basement of an apartment building to avoid arrest.
While officers waited for additional assistance, the man exited the building and drove off in a car.
The man stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of St. Elizabeth Hospital, at 1506 S. Oneida Street, and ran inside.
The man ran through several areas of the hospital before officers and hospital security staff were able to locate him.
Police say the man was taken to jail on several charges related to two domestic violence incidents, occurring on Monday and Oct. 21, 2016.
