GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – It’s no secret, Wisconsin’s winter weather causes cars to rust.
Bringing many into their local car washes, in hopes to prevent any further damage.
And with an unseasonably warm forecast on Sunday, that’s where you’d find Chris Cole.
“It’s getting a good layer of salt on it right now. And I want to get it cleaned up so it doesn’t get any more rust on it than it already has.”
Assistant Manager at the Shell station on the corner of Lombardi and Ashland Tammy Laper tells FOX 11 business has been great recently – especially during warmer days.
With winter weather forecasted for our area the next couple of days, she’s not surprised.
“Trying to get that salt and grind off of them before the snow gets here. And then you get more on it so people are just kind of keeping up with the under bodies right now.”
Other car washes were also busy Sunday afternoon as well.
Some had two rows of cars waiting patiently to get in, including Cole.
“At least we’re getting the first four or five layers of salt off of it right now. “It’s gonna build up much more. Just gonna get it washed up and get ready for the next storm.”
As the next weather maker gets ready to move into Northeast Wisconsin to kick off the work week.
