GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Police are investigating a stabbing incident that happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday.
It happened at the corner of Mather and Broadway on the city’s west side.
When police arrived, several people were in the street fighting.
One man was stabbed and another male fled on foot.
Police say friends of the victim tried to hold the suspect until police arrived.
A further fight broke out and the victim’s mother received injuries to her left hand.
Captain Kevin Warych says they now have the suspect in custody.
“The suspect is currently in the Brown County Jail being held on a probation hold and charges coming from the disturbance are forthcoming.”
The stabbing victim received non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say the investigation is still early and are trying to determine a motive.
