ONEIDA, WI (WTAQ) – Police say the “bomb-like device” which caused the Oneida Health Center to be evacuated Tuesday morning turned out to be a radio.
Tribal police say the building was evacuated around 9 a.m. The radio had wires coming out of it, batteries taped or hot-glued to it, and forced center officials to take precautions.
Police Chief Rich VanBoxtel told the media that the radio was left inside the building unintentionally by custodians.
Employees were being allowed back inside around 11 a.m., with the center reopening to the public at noon.
