GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay police say a major crash Thursday afternoon killed one person and injured four others.
Police say it happened at the intersection of Lombardi Avenue and Ashland Avenue around 4 p.m.
Officers say a minivan driving east on Lombardi went into the intersection, and struck a red car and a gray car. The minivan ended up on its side on some nearby railroad tracks.
A motorcyclist was hit by debris from that crash as well.
Police say the driver of the red car, who was the lone occupant, died at the scene. There were 4 people in the van, two of which were taken to the hospital with what authorities called serious injuries. The other two people in the van were children, who are being held for observation.
The person in the gray car was not injured, and neither was the motorcyclist.
The investigation is ongoing.
