BEAVER DAM, WI (WTAQ) — An assistant manager of a Fleet Farm in Beaver Dam is recovering after being shot.
Officials say the manager and another employee confronted a person believed to have shoplifted ammunition from the store.
Police say the 17-year-old male from Fitchburg got into a car and then shot the 31-year-old assistant manager once, hitting him in the wrist and shoulder.
The assistant manager suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The 17-year-old left the scene and was taken into custody in the city of Columbus.
A handgun was recovered.
The 17-year-old faces an attempted first degree murder charge.
An 18-year-old Verona man was also taken in custody as an accomplice.
