Earlier this week, police arrested 18-year-old Jordan Roberson. He is charged with use of a dangerous weapon and first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
On Sunday afternoon, police received reports of shots fired in the area of Westfield Park.
Witnesses and area surveillance showed multiple males engaged in a physical altercation that led to shots fired and multiple suspect vehicles driving away from the area.
According to the police probable cause statement, police found four spent shell casings which were 7.62×39 caliber. Two other shell casings were found which were both 9mm handgun rounds.
The registration to one of the vehicles seen leaving the area led officers to a identify Roberson as a suspect, police say.
A relative told police Roberson said he was in an altercation at the park, someone shot at him, and he fired back and fled the area, the probable cause statement reads.
On Thursday, police served a search warrant at the residence of a 42-year-old woman in Two Rivers. As part of the search warrant, police conducted a forensic analysis of a cell phone belonging to the suspect.
According to the police probable cause statement, the last text message sent from the phone stated, “They are trying to get you’re [sic] number to ping your location shut all your locations off do not call my other phone no more use this one only.”
Police say they recovered an AK47 after learning the suspect had asked another person to take the gun from her residence and hide it somewhere else before the search warrant was served.
Police are recommending the woman be charged with harboring or aiding felons. No formal charges have been filed against her at this time.
Investigators believe at this time that both primary suspects are in custody. Additional subjects that were involved in the incident are still being sought by law enforcement. The investigation is still active.
