De Pere, WI (WTAQ) – De Pere police are investigating an attempted child abduction on the east side of the city.
A 14-year-old girl says she was walking in the 1700 block of Merrill Street, which is near the high school, just before 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, when a man tried to get her into his vehicle.
She wasn’t hurt and was able to run away.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 60 to 65 years old.
He has white hair, a scruffy beard and a raspy voice.
Officials say he was driving a tan or champagne colored single cab truck that had rust on the wheel wells on the driver’s side.
