UNDATED, WI (WTAQ) – Wisconsin’s Senior Senator is weighing in on the marketplace attack in Berlin, Germany.
Senator Ron Johnson, the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, tells WTAQ what happened in Berlin is just another example of America’s failed foreign policy when it comes to dealing with the refugee crisis and the spread of Islamic terror groups.
“Right now the world is a mess because America has been weak. The strategy of peace through withdrawl has been a miserable failure. We actually have to achieve peace through strength…starting with economic strength”
Right now there are many unanswered questions.
“We do need to find out who was responsible for this. Was this person part of the migrant flow ? Is this a lone wolf?”
Johnson says this could be an ISIS plant, or at least ISIS inspired.
“In America we’ve seen inspired lone wolves”
He says attacks like this is likely to continue until we defeat ISIS.
“They continue to train operatives, there’s a spillover effect. And we continue to see this all around the world”
Berlin Christmas market was the target of a terror attack on Monday when a truck plowed into residents and tourists. At least twelve people died and almost fifty more people were seriously injured.
