MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ) – The USS Milwaukee will officially join the U.S. Navy fleet on November 21st.
A ceremony is planned that day to commission the littoral combat ship that was built at Marinette Marine.
It’s the fifth vessel to be named for Milwaukee, and the first to be made in Wisconsin.
The new boat will operate in shallow waters, at speeds up to 45 knots.
