MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Authorities now say a man who drowned off Lake Michigan near Manitowoc was competing in a fishing tournament.
The Coast Guard pulled the body of 24-year-old Max Boheme of Lisle, Illinois from the water late Saturday afternoon.
Manitowoc County sheriff’s officials said Monday Boheme was taking part in the Great Lakes Kayak Fishing Series when his kayak overturned. His body was found close to the boat.
Investigators do not suspect foul play. Autopsy results are still pending.
