GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Authorities in Brown County continue the search for a Green Bay man who cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet last Friday.
Tony Salmon is a convicted sex offender who is out on parole.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Department believes the woman with Salmon could be in danger.
Nadine Crowley left willingly with Salmon. However, sheriff’s officials say after speaking with the couple’s family and friends they’ve heard enough to be concerned.
“We get both ends of it,” Capt. David Konrath with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department tells FOX 11. “We’ve got a very concerned mother who thinks she’s been held against her will and maybe in danger to the other side of the fence, relatives of his that says he is fine and she is fine and they were at his house just recently.”
Crowley’s mother told investigators her daughter said she was nervous about Salmon’s behavior the day before the couple left. Since then, Crowley has only made brief phone calls to family. They call those conversations suspicious and believes Salmon could be controlling her actions.
“I don’t have any indication that he has harmed her in the past, but he has a history of domestic violence,” said Konrath.
Salmon was charged with second degree sexual assault with use of force in 2002.
On Monday, someone posted from Crowley’s Facebook account. It read ‘Mom I am fine. I am an adult and i am actually having a good time. I’m on vacation. How embarrassing. I love you guys and see you all soon.’
Another post from Crowley’s Facebook account came Thursday night reading, ‘I don’t understand why there’s a nationwide manhunt for Tony. He’s not a murderer and he’s not with me so if you feel like talking my number is….”
Konrath says the best solution is for Crowley to go to any police department with her ID and have that agency call Brown County to verify she is safe. He says Salmon should turn himself in.
The sheriff’s department says the couple could be anywhere at this point.
