GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The former Brown County Sheriff’s D.A.R.E. officer accused of stealing funds from the program over a number of years will stand trial.
In court Tuesday, Kevin Vanden Heuvel waived his preliminary hearing on four felony charges. Two of the counts are for theft and two for misconduct in office.
Vanden Heuvel had his arraignment set for October 19.
The other man charged in the scheme, Early Fuller, also made his initial court appearance Tuesday.
Fuller was released on a $10,000 signature bond. He’ll have a preliminary hearing on charges of theft and obstruction on October 15.
Vanden Heuvel and Fuller likely stole money from the D.A.R.E parking program for 7 years, according to the criminal complaint. Officials say Vanden Heuvel and Fuller would park cars, give out fake passes and pocket some of the cash.
