ST. PAUL, MN (WTAQ) – A gun stolen in Green Bay ends up at a high school in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A 16-year-old boy admits taking the .22-caliber weapon to Harding High School in Minnesota’s capital, so he could protect himself from gang members.
Police found the gun Wednesday in a backpack that was searched at the school.
Investigators later found that the weapon was reported stolen in Green Bay. There’s no immediate word on how that happened.
Thursday the boy pleaded guilty to a Minnesota juvenile charge of having a dangerous weapon on school property.
Officials say they did not find proof that the boy was planning to use the gun at his school.
