OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – One man is dead after being struck by a car early Sunday.
Authorities in Oconto County say it happened on Highway 32 in the Township of Lakewood around 12:45 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies say a 20-year-old Wabeno man was a passenger in a vehicle that hit a deer. He got out of the vehicle and walked into the road to look for the deer.
The Wabeno man was then struck by a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old Crivitz man.
The victim died at the scene, while the Crivitz man was not hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
