MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A federal grand jury has indicted an Illinois man accused of defrauding about 70 people, including four from Marinette County.
According to prosecutors, 55-year-old Gregory J. Kuczora of Elgin, Illinois, stole over $1 million from his victims.
Kuczora allegedly promised business loans in exchange for up-front fees. He claimed to be an agent of a United Kingdom-based financial investment firm, but the firm turned out to be little more than a website registered in Panama.
Kuczora faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
