OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A warehouse fire in Oshkosh Friday night provided challenges to crews responding.
Authorities say the fire happened in the 2500 block of Bowen Street around 10:30 p.m.
Fire crews say a “big fire” took place at a multi-unit industrial storage facility that is also broken up into several businesses. They say some of the things stored in there are machinery and vehicles.
“It’s been a tough fire to fight because of the building that it’s in is chopped up into all different little sections and so there’s different businesses and different storage areas throughout the whole area so we’ve had to kind of work our way through the maze,” Oshkosh Fire Department official John Holland tells FOX 11.
“We have a fire station about maybe half a mile away and when they hit the road they could see an orange glow and we got something big here. So we have a lot of fire or we did, the fire is pretty much under control now, finally,” Holland said.
Bowen Street, which had been closed for several hours overnight, is now back open.
