MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – A 15-year-old Manitowoc junior high school student is expected to stay in the hospital for two to three weeks for treatment of the injuries she suffered when she was hit by a school bus.
Jacklynn Gienke is a medically-induced coma right now. She is scheduled to have surgery to stabilize a fracture in her back next Tuesday.
Her neck was also broken in the Thursday accident which happened while she was walking to school.
Gienke suffered a collapsed lung, a damaged kidney, and other cuts and scrapes. She also had a tire mark across her back.
