MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – A Manitowoc doctor whose license was suspended amid allegations that he overprescribed pain medications has his hearing scheduled before a state board.
A contested case hearing for Dr. Charles Szyman has been set for May 18 in Madison, according to an order filed with Wisconsin’s Division of Hearings and Appeals. The hearing is described as an administrative trial.
Szyman had his license suspended by the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board back in October. He was being investigated by local and federal drug authorities.
Szyman was fired by Holy Family Memorial Hospital and no criminal charges have been filed.
