APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A two-vehicle crash in Appleton sends both drivers to the hospital.
Appleton police say the head-on crash happened around 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Ballard Road and Capitol Drive.
A 31-year-old man, who authorities say may have been drunk, was hospitalized in serious condition. A 37-year-old woman driving the other vehicle was also taken to a hospital.
Investigators say the man was driving the wrong-way and slammed head-on with a vehicle driving west on Capitol from Ballard.
Traffic is able to move with some lanes open after the area was shut down while Appleton Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol investigated.
