DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) – A crime in De Pere brings out the Christmas spirit in the victims, and the police officers who investigated their case.
WBAY-TV says it all started Monday, when Lynette Berreau noticed that her Christmas gifts for family and friends were stolen from her garage, along with bicycles and roller blades.
Berreau reported the thefts to a 911 dispatcher — who sent the victim cash, gift cards, and flowers which De Pere and Green Bay officers donated so her kids could have a Christmas.
Wednesday, Berreau’s family made more than one dozen apple pies in appreciation to the officers. The pies and thank you cards were being delivered on this Christmas Eve.
