GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A hotel in Green Bay had to be evacuated after police were asked by the manager to conduct a welfare check.
Police responded to the Economy Inn, 1704 S. Ashland Avenue, and found a 64-year-old Green Bay man dead inside his hotel room. Also discovered was an unidentified substance inside a gallon jug.
As a precaution, the hotel was evacuated and a hazmat team was called in to check out the substance.
The substance was deemed not to be a risk and the scene was cleared. Hotel guests were then able to return to their rooms.
Police say they don’t suspect foul play.
