GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Benjamin Hart sums up the feelings of Packer fans everywhere.
“I just want a Super Bowl.”
Following Saturday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, many wondering if Saturday night was the last time Aaron Rodgers walked off Lambeau Field as a Packer.
Travis Dale hopes its not the case.
“Right now he’s in his prime, he didn’t play very well last night. But we know he can lead us to there and I feel confident in him.”
Dale believes the reigning MVP gives the Packers the best chance to win a Super Bowl.
Although Hart wants the team to go in a different direction.
“Let’s get rid of him and let’s go on man, for sure. I love him, he’s a great player, you can’t beat him. But we have to rebuild man, we have to get better.”
Others like Roy Sprister have a harder time letting go.
“Part of me wants him back because of his talent, and part of me is like we can’t win a playoff game with him. Maybe it’s time to move on as much as it hurts.”
Adding uncertainty to the equation is player salaries.
“50/50. If they can restructure some contracts, I know that they are not looking good for salary cap next year,” said Dale.
“And he also said too he doesn’t wanna be a rebuilding team, well he might have to do that and I think this team gives him the best chance to win a Super Bowl.”
For a season that started with tons of questions around it, there are even more now that it’s over.
