OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The suspect in an Oconto attempted murder was ordered Tuesday to stand trial.
Cody Krueger, 24, is charged with attempted homicide and other charges for the incident last fall. After he waived a preliminary hearing Tuesday, a Feb. 21 arraignment was scheduled, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, Nicholas Staidl was shot shortly after the postal service delivered a package on Sept. 3 to a residence on Superior Avenue.
Oconto police said the shooting was about the package, which contained narcotics. The criminal complaint, however, makes no mention of narcotics. In the complaint, Staidl says issues about a woman may have led to the shooting.
Authorities found Krueger hiding in the woods and took him into custody.
