MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Republicans are out with a new package of legislation that would restrict eligibility requirements for unemployment benefits and Medicaid coverage.
Republicans say the bills are designed to keep more people in the workforce.
They would require officials to conduct audits of recipients’ work searches and further fraud prevention efforts.
It would also end Medicaid benefits for able-bodies childless adults who refuse job interviews or don’t show up for work.
