The Milwaukee Bucks crowned the Sacramento Kings 111-103 Wednesday night at the BMOHarris Bradley Center to hit the All-Star break as one of the league’s hottest teams. O.J Mayo led the way with 21 points, Brandon Knight added 20 as the Bucks finished the first half with wins in eight of their last nine games. At 30-23, the Bucks reached the 30 win mark before the All Star game for the first time since 1991. They also became the first team in NBA history to double their win total before the break. Last year, the Bucks managed only 15 wins all season.
The Bucks will represented by two players at the weekend All-Star festivities in New York. Brandon Knight will take part in the skills competition while Giannis Antetokounmpo will compete in the slam dunk show Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
Milwaukee also announced Wednesday they will retire the number 10 jersey worn by Bob Dandridge. The forward from Norfolk State was one of the early stars for the Bucks on their only NBA Championship team in 1971 that also featured Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson. Dandridge played for the Bucks for 9 seasons and his jersey will be the 8th to be retired in franchise history. The retirement ceremony will take place in March.
