GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – As more cold moves in, some are working to help people in need stay warm.
Brown County United Way held its 11th-annual “Blanket Blitz” on Saturday.
The non profit asked donors to drop off new, or gently-used clean blankets at the Johnsonville Tailgate Village outside Lambeau Field.
Volunteers will bring them to area agencies and homeless shelters.
“It is a really warm feeling knowing we can affect people,” said Tom Schoffelman, Brown County United Way Resource Development and Communications Vice President. “We can positively affect them on a day, especially when you think of how cold and windy it is today and how important warmth is to all of us.”
Brown County United Way says it collected over 1,150 items during the event.
