GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A noon hour supervisor watched over her final lunchtime at a Green Bay elementary school.
Beloved lunch lady Ellen Pelkin is retiring from her position at Eisenhower Elementary School after 33 years.
“(The staff and students) are amazing people. We’ve got the best staff at Eisenhower school that I can ever imaging. That’s why I never wanted to leave. And the kids, every one of them, steals your heart. So yes, I’m blessed.”
The district says Pelkin first worked as a volunteer for 10 years before putting in another 23 years.
