APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – One person is looking for a new place to live, following a fire that started on their porch.
Appleton fire crews were called to a home on West Franklin Street around 11:30 p.m. last night (Monday).
The caller said they saw a couch on the front porch on fire with visible flames. They went to the home and pounded on the door to alert the person inside.
That person and their dog got out safely.
Crews were able to put out the fire in 15 minutes. The home has significant smoke and heat damage.
Damages to the home are estimated to be about $75,000.
