GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Virtual learning will take place the remainder of the week at Preble High School due to concerns over additional threats made toward the school.
The Green Bay Area Public School District says it became aware Wednesday evening of an Instagram post containing a threat. The threat is the second to have surfaced in as many days and the third this week.
According to police, several leads were followed which led to three juveniles being identified and questioned.
As the investigation progressed, a 16-year-old boy was identified as the likely suspect. Police say he ultimately confessed to posting the threatening language. He is currently being held in custody. Charges of Terroristic Threats are being referred to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office.
Thursday, students will need to log in to Google Chrome to access their assignments. There will be no live instruction. Friday will be a virtual learning day with teacher instruction.
Teachers may come to the building both days, but students will not be allowed. All after-school activities are postponed.
The district is working with police, who are investigating. Anyone with information on the person responsible for latest post or those who commented on it should call police at 1-920-448-3208. Anonymous tips may be left online with Speak Up/Speak Out Wisconsin or Crime Stoppers.
