GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers are Making A Difference for Paul’s Pantry on Tuesday.
The Packers offered a generous donation through its “Touchdowns for Hunger” program.
The Packers and Sargento Foods offer $2,000 for each touchdown the team scored this season. So far, they’ve scored 33.
Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling helped present a $66,000 check to Paul’s Pantry. He says giving back is near and dear to his heart.
“I’ve been giving back since I was a little kid, something that my parents instilled in me,” Valdes-Scantling said. “We went out before we would even open any of our Christmas gifts. We would always go back and do the food drives and the homeless drives before we’d open up anything. So this is something that’s always I’ve been a part of.”
Since the program’s start, the Packers have raised over $1.5 million to help the hungry statewide.
