BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin transportation officials have introduced plans to improve a stretch of State Highway 29 in western Brown County.
The state Department of Transportation is looking to improve an eight-mile stretch between the Brown/Shawano County line and County Highway J.
Several improvements are being proposed. They include:
- Resurfacing mainline Highway 29 (asphalt mill and overlay)
- Resurfacing ramps for Highway 32 and resurfacing mainline Highway 32 (asphalt mill and overlay)
- Replacing beam guard
- Replacing curb ramps on County Highway FF north of Highway 29
- Replacing culvert endwalls
- Replacing culverts
- Pavement markings
- Shoulder rumble strips
- Shoulder aggregate
Plans are expected to be finalized in 2024, with construction beginning in 2028. To learn more about the project and submit feedback, visit the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s website.
