GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – We are less than two weeks away from Christmas! And, according to the folks who deliver our mail….it’s their Super Bowl.
According to the United States Postal Service this is the busiest week. Brad Koenig is the Green Bay postmaster.
“From the 13th to about the 17th we expect to deliver, in Green Bay alone, probably around 100 thousand packages.”
Nationally, nearly 2.3 billion pieces of mail, including greeting cards and packages, will be processed and delivered this week. Koenig has some advice if you’re ready to ship…
“Come in with a good box, have it all labeled and we’re good to go.”
At the Green Bay USPS Processing & Distribution Center Koenig tells FOX 11 it’s all hands on deck these days.
“In Green Bay, we have carriers that are helping out on the clerk side and we’re all coming together as a team. We’ve been preparing this for the whole year. This is our season to make sure we deliver.”
Just this weekend 5 thousand pieces of holiday season mail and packages were delivered.
